Map and Contact Info
Beacon’s most major route is Interstate 84, which passes through the city’s north side, providing a connection that is minutes to the Taconic State Parkway, New York State Thruway and Stewart International Airport.
A recent court order imposed the restriction on the usage of one of the two driveways lead to the Chrystie House parking lot. If you are following your GPS, driving or walking on Sargent Avenue, and are being told that you are approaching Chrystie House, do not use the driveway next to an old stone wall and a cottage-like gatehouse. Please continue on South Avenue, soon you will see a mailbox with the number 300. This is the driveway you should use.
Thank you for your understanding and see you soon!
Commuter service to New York City is available via the MTA Beacon Train Station, served by Metro-North Railroad. The station is one mile away from the Chrystie House. Taxi service is available from the train station by exiting left through the tunnel (do not exit right from the tunnel to the river side).
Beacon is serviced on weekdays by a commuter ferry, the Newburgh-Beacon Ferry, over the Hudson between both cities. The ferry’s route runs between Beacon City Harbor and Newburgh City Waterfront.
Taxi service is available from Beacon Train Station, or call 845 625-6422, or 845 269-1826, to make a reservation.
Note – please advise the driver to use the correct driveway from Sargent Avenue (next to the mailbox marked 300), not the driveway next to the neighboring gatehouse/stone wall.
